Luciano combines his love of God and beauty into a soulful, spiritual blend of rock and R&B-tinged reggae. Born Jepther McClymont in Davey Town, he began his musical career singing in church and moved to Kingston to pursue music professionally. It was suggested by one of his mentors, Homer Harris, that McClymont re-christened as Luciano, a name that parallels his extraordinary vocal skills alongside those of the world-renowned operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti. The name was also somewhat prophetic: “Luci” means bearer of light. Luciano now shines as one of the brightest lights in the Jamaican music constellation. Luciano has been building his career internationally for the past twenty years. June 2014 he performed on Reggae In The Hills in Northern California and the Island Festival in Kalamazoo, Michigan and July he performed on the International Festival of Life in Chicago within a North American tour. Luciano is a hard working reggae artist who has developed a strong tour history in North America. His 2013 tour with covered North America and lasted seven weeks. Luciano’s latest release was his 40th studio album called Qabalah Man This music is another spiritually inclined contribution.
